RSI / Repetitive Strain Injury

This is the umbrella term covering tendonitis, teno-synovitis and carpal tunnel syndrome. Symptoms include numbness, tingling, sharp pain, dull ache, weakness, loss of grip, restricted movement of the limbs – all of which can render people incapable of carrying out the simplest of tasks.

The RSI association recommend acupuncture and chiropractic treatment as part of a multi-facet approach towards improvement:

  • Obtain a specific diagnosis.
  • Seek appropriate treatment that will restore and improve proper blood flow and function to the underlying neck and shoulder joints.
  • Avoid the risk of any further damage by adjusting the way you work or activities you engage in outside work.
  • Engage in activities that stimulate blood flow.
  • Undertake a period of rehabilitation before resuming full work load.
